Hawks Talon GC Earn First Win In Franchise History

ATLANTA – Earlier this evening, Hawks Talon Gaming Club earned the first victory in franchise history by defeating Celtics Crossover Gaming by a score of 68-58 during Week 1 of the 2019 NBA 2K League Regular Season.

“I’m really proud of our team and especially for ARSONAL to get a win against his former team,” Hawks Talon GC’s Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff said. “After last week’s tournament, we learned that there is no shortcut for putting in the hours at the lab. We are just getting started in this league, and we are here to stay.”

ARSONAL (Devon Peek) led the team with 18 points, 18 rebounds and four assists and earned recognition as the Intel Player of the Game. The team acquired ARSONAL with their second-round pick (eighth overall) in the 2018 NBA 2K League Expansion Draft. Last season, he was teammates with oFAB, MEL EAST and ProFusion who were each retained by Celtics Crossover and played in Wednesday night’s game.

Hawks Talon’s 13th overall pick in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft DevGoss (Devin Gossett) totaled 17 points, one rebound and one assist and recorded the first block in franchise history while the club’s third-round pick in the 2019 2KL Draft, Jay a Fool (Jonathan Jefferson), tallied 15 points and collected two boards and four steals.

Rando (Randolph Moreno) scored 11 points and added a team-high five assists while the 2018 NBA 2K League Expansion Draft’s first overall pick Dat Boy Shotz (Connor Rodrigues) finished with seven points, four rebounds, four assists and a team-high five steals.

Hawks Talon is scheduled to play in two games during Week 2 of the 2019 NBA 2K League Regular Season, the first versus Jazz Gaming (6 p.m. ET) and the second against Kings Guard Gaming (8 p.m. ET), on Friday, April 19. These games will be livestreamed on the league’s Twitch channel.
