ATLANTA — It was announced today during the broadcast of the NBA 2K League Finals that Hawks Talon GC’s LEE (Lee Lamb) was selected to be on the 2020 NBA 2K League All-Rookie Team. This past February, Hawks Talon GC, the official affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, drafted LEE with the first-round, 16th overall selection in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft. At the end of each year, the NBA 2K League distributes end-of-season awards to players and organizations that dominated the competition all year long. The All-Rookie Team was voted in a joint effort with half the vote coming from the players and the other half coming from team managers, league officials, on-air talent and media. As a result, players with the most votes at their respective positions were selected to this year’s All-Rookie Team.
“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers throughout the league,” said Lamb. “This accolade will be one of my sources for motivation as I work to improve and come back even better next season.”
After starting each game this season, LEE completed his rookie campaign leading the NBA 2K League in FG% (.748) and ranked first among rookies in blocks per game and second among rookies in rebounds per game. He finished the season with per-game averages of 11.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks and set the Hawks Talon GC franchise-record with 17 double-double performances in a single season.
“Since the moment we drafted Lee, it was a pleasure coaching him,” said Hawks Talon GC Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff. “Night in and night out, he brought an energetic presence and never backed down from an opposing matchup. He always competed to the best of his ability. We are confident that he’s only going to get better as he continues playing in the 2K League.”
Joining LEE on the All-Rookie team were SPLASHY (Kimanni Ingram) of Jazz Gaming, REGG (Reginald Nash, Jr.) of Bucks Gaming, CRUSH (Rafel Davis) of Kings Guard Gaming and ZAE (Zaeya Ishak) of Hornets Venom GT.
