Hawks Talon GC Begin Bracket Play of Switch Open Tonight

Hawks Talon Will Face Warriors Gaming Squad for First Game of Bracket Play

ATLANTA – Hawks Talon GC, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, will begin bracket play of the SWITCH OPEN on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. against No. 21 Warriors Gaming Squad.

Talon finished the group play portion of the SWITCH with a 2-2 record, with wins over Nets GC (3-1) and Cavs Legion GC (3-1), earning the No. 12 seed.

In the wins against Nets GC and Cavs Legion GC, Mark David ‘MDS’ Smith averaged 7.9 points and 5.1 assists, while Ludlow ‘LOW’ Samuels cleaned up the glass grabbing 6.1 rebounds.

“Coming into the group play of the SWITCH, we had to play two top-five teams and a really good NBL OZ Gaming team,” said Hawks Talon head coach Ismael ‘MAELO’ Diaz Tolentino. “It was a tough group and the guys showed resilience and composure this past week and I think that’s something that will carry over as we look to advance in bracket play.”

In the same double elimination bracket format as the SLAM, Hawks Talon will advance with each win it earns, or with a loss, will bump down to the losers portion of the bracket, where all games will be single elimination.

With a victory, Talon would play on Wednesday, April 3, against the winner of No. 5 Gen.G Tigers versus No. 28 GCL Underdogs, or with a loss, would face the loser of the match on Friday, March 29th. To view the bracket for the SWITCH, click here.
