Second Annual NBA 2K League Showcase to Take Place August 2nd

With the 2019 NBA 2K League Finals set for Saturday, August 3, festivities will officially tip off with the second annual NBA 2K League Showcase – a tournament featuring professional NBA 2K League players and influencers from the worlds of sports and entertainment. The showcase will take place Friday, August 2 beginning at 7 p.m. ET from the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel in Long Island City, New York and will be livestreamed on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube Channels.

Confirmed participants include former NFL player Jeremy Maclin, music artist Ponce De’Leioun, content creator FlightReacts, content creator SGK7, and content creator GirlGamerChas. NBA 2K League players will also participate.

The NBA 2K League Showcase will be a three-game, single-elimination tournament featuring four teams each consisting of five players. The game schedule is below:

7-8 p.m. ET                Semifinal #1
8-9 p.m. ET                Semifinal #2
9-10 p.m. ET              NBA 2K League Showcase Finals

Tickets to the NBA 2K League Showcase are free, and fans can reserve tickets by visiting the tickets link on the league website. Doors will open at 5 p.m. ET. Fans in attendance can also meet some of their favorite NBA 2K League players and play interactive games, from the fan-favorite Pop-A-Shot to modern arcade games. There will be a photo opportunity with the popular HyperX RGB Chair.

Last year, the Showcase featured 7-time NBA Champion Robert Horry, as well as former NBA champion turned media personality, Brian Scalabrine. Ronnie 2K, the community ambassador for NBA 2K, participated, as well as A$AP Twelvyy, an accomplished hip hop artist who is part of A$AP Mob, a group with multiple top 10 albums on the US R&B / Hip Hop charts.

Four NBA 2K League players (Adam “iamadamthe1st” Kudeimati of Knicks Gaming, Artreyo “Dimez” Boyd of Mavs Gaming, Albano “oFAB” Thomallari of Celtics Crossover Gaming, and Shaka “Yeah I Compete” Browne of Jazz Gaming) coached teams throughout the tournament.
